Course Content:
This 8 hour program is designed for those looking for a career in Mobile Security. At the completion of Sting's Mobile Officer Course, participants will be able to do the following:
- Describe the specific roles, responsibilities, and attributes of a Mobile Security Professional
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and ability to assess situations quickly and effectively
- Time management
- Describe "crimes of opportunity" and how to prevent them, target hardening, layers of security, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
- Explain and demonstrate basic surveillance skills and access control
- Describe physical security controls, interact with various types of alarm systems and explain their function, types of alarms (common triggers) and conduct a physical security survey
- Maintain personal safety and awareness when responding to incidents
- Understand basic alarm response procedures and interacting with surveillance access control systems
- Understand the rules for operating a vehicle and completing a vehicle checklist
- Describe the different types of alarm and how to respond to each
- Understand and apply a professional and effective style of communication in order to manage, control incidents, when responding to incidents and when calling 9-1-1
- Demonstrate exceptional proficiencies and accuracy in note-taking and Security Report Writing when documenting various types of incidents
- Maintain personal and professional safety and well being while working in a mobile patrol setting
