Course content: At the completion of the Security Supervisor Training Course, participants will be able to do the following:
- Explain and demonstrate the principals of leadership, your role and responsibilities, styles, job performance, skills and abilities, ethics, team management, and conflict management
- Understand role and responsibilities as a supervisor (risk-reduction)
- Understand and apply a professional and effective style of communication in all interactions, communication process, methods of communication, and barriers of communication
- Explain and demonstrate the importance of employee performance evaluations, elements of an evaluation, standards of performance, methods of evaluating, and counseling employees after the evaluation
- Describe the function of discipline, progressive discipline, and documentation
- Describe the importance of effective time management, prioritizing activities, effective planning, time robbers, and time management tools
- Understanding behavior and motivation (motives), preventing job dissatisfaction, motivating for superior performance
- Explain the four areas of employee counseling, purpose of performance counseling, forms of sexual harassment, dealing with specific cases
- Explain the changing face of the workforce, understanding key legislation, and moving beyond stereotypes and building teams
- Explain the process of being proactive and choosing your course, developing a "Win-Win" attitude, understanding of attributes of others, live to learn
- Understanding role and responsibilities during an emergency
